Company “Kokovai Lilies” started with its work in 2001. At the beginning, our agricultural holding was engaged only in growing high-quality flowers. In addition to the most frequent lilies, we were growing chrysanthemums and lycianthes as well.

Every start is difficult – that was how we started as well, with only 1000 lilies and 1200 bouquets of chrysanthemums per year. We grew flowers in the small, mobile foil-tents, exclusively from spring to autumn. We were procuring lily bulbs from the Netherlands, through Hungarian suppliers. The biggest challenge was getting to know different species of lilies and their needs, as well as getting to know the market, customers’ wishes and requests.

Our little company soon became serious business venture. We built ventilated, heated greenhouses and found new suppliers from the Netherlands, company De Jong Lelies, from which we import bulbs since 2006. Today we have 45 species of lilies, from which the most widespread is LA Hibrid, but we grow species like Orientalis and Longiflorum as well. 750 000 lilies come out of our garden per year. We plant flowers on a surface area of two hectares – we heat one hectare, and we get half a million lilies and 150 000 of tulips a year from it.

Our target market for high-quality flowers we found in Belgrade. We initially delivered flowers in large twice a week on the flower market, after which we started supplying flower stores. Soon we expanded our market on Novi Sad and the territory of Vojvodina. At the moment, we supply 500 flower stores with flowers.
