Freesia

She is a native of South and East Africa and belongs to the family of female petals.
Nowadays, it is grown all over the world as an ornamental plant. Freesia is a herbaceous plant, named after a German doctor.
Its cultivation began in the second half of the 19th century.
Like all flowers, freesia has a "soul". Growing and caring for it is not an easy task.
They can also have funnel flowers and spread flowers. They are available in all colors, but are usually white and yellow. Its flowers are arranged in clusters. It is rarely seen in gardens, but it is a popular ornamental plant due to its diversity. We distinguish 14 varieties, all of which originate from Africa.
It grows from bulbous tubers, growing long narrow leaves as well as smaller branched stems. The leaves are light green, sword-shaped. At the end of the flower stalk are funnel-shaped flowers.
Onion tubers can be planted in a flower box, in pots as a houseplant or in the garden.
When planting in the garden, give it a sunny place, soil with good water permeability and rich in nutrients. Planting is done in mid-spring. Onions should be picked before winter frosts. In the fall, after the leaves turn yellow and dry, pick them up and overwinter in a dry, cool place.
As a houseplant, it prefers bright, sunny places. Provide enough water and nutrients.
Freesia is often called a symbol of innocence and attention.
